CTO @ ZAR

Never heard of it, what is it?

Accelerating stablecoin adoption for a billion people living in countries with unstable money.

Uh oh. Already red flags popping up. Why and how is it that people in countries with unstable currency are somehow providing profit to you?

Company size: 11-50 employees

And of course it’s people with a small amount of power that get drunk off it.

Don’t forget “AI Pioneer.” That’s how you know he’s an idiot.

Also using the sweaty, coked-up villain from Leon (The Professional) to represent yourself as a positive image is unhinged.

[–] MotoAsh@piefed.social 11 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Oh no, people with lots of power also get drunk off it. Remember hoe proudly Elon did his Nazi salute?

(typo'd 'hoe', but leaving it, because Elon is a hoe)

Afaik most of the revenue for stablecoin issuers comes from investing the dollars backing the stablecoins mostly in things like treasuries ("cash-equivalent assets") and pocketing the interest. They don't provide all of those dollars to begin with, rather people give it to them in exchange for stablecoins, and they accumulate a lot. Actual users of stablecoins don't pay fees to the issuers. Not sure if issuing stablecoins is the actual business this person is involved in though, that statement is vague and it could be something else.

An interesting fact is that even if stablecoin issuers wanted to give some of that interest back to users instead of keeping it all themselves, the US government has been recently taking steps to make that illegal.

Lol our HR people can't even turn on their laptops unassisted

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 23 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Translation: I demand everyone automate their job so I can stop paying them, and all the money goes to me. I will not accept any other response, because I'm too dumb to understand why it won't work. But don't try telling me that - I saw an impressive YouTube video of a tech demo, so now I'm a visionary genius. If you protest, I'll hire someone else since you all are NPCs and I'm the main character.

I saw an impressive YouTube video of a tech demo, so now I'm a visionary genius.

Some days I feel surrounded by this.

And the part that needles at me, deep at the back of my mind:

These folks have seen what I can do after decades of daily investment in learning.

And I suspect that what they think is, "this person must have seen one hell of an inspirational talk on YouTube, to be able to do all that."

I work to make the next generation not have to invest as long or hard as I did. But it still ain't magic, yet.

That sure is a collection of English words.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 20 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Fuck Claude Code and this guy in general, but getting all workers, not just programmers, to use version control (just version control, not AI) has some merit to it.

[–] HarkMahlberg@kbin.earth 3 points 1 month ago

SharePoint has version control lol, my HR department has been using that for over a decade.

[–] Kushan@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

It completely falls apart of you think HR is going to go near a terminal.

[–] prenatal_confusion@feddit.org 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Take out the Claude part and the idea is not half bad. Make processes transparent by documenting them, make them version controlled to see changes and the effects they had and find ways to improve the workflow. It does not have to be inhumane crypto bro ai bullshit but can be a modern company structure. Maybe.

Somebody will fuck it up. Most likely the CEO.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Ha ha ha, good one. Most people have no idea what the actual processes are within their organisation, including management. If you could get people to understand and describe their own processes, you'd have a huge win, but good luck with that.

[–] prenatal_confusion@feddit.org 4 points 1 month ago

Especially since it might uncover that somebody has a task that has 5 hours alotted and takes 4 minutes.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 12 points 1 month ago

I'm building a fully automated organization

At least he's honest about what his goal is. Maybe his employees will clue in and abandon that sinking ship.

AI pioneer

Gotta love these types that didn't actually develop anything AI themselves, they dicked around a little bit with AI prompt, and now in LinkedIn I'm an AI pioneer

LinkedIn descriptiona.are always fun. I'm a protein rotation specialist at a carbohydrate management company, i.e. I'm a hamburger flipper at mcdonalds

[–] Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 month ago

I used to say I was a dish sanitation engineer. That was before LinkedIn tho.

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

For people that don’t know this dude is actually an accomplished author in the rails space

https://leanpub.com/therails7way

The Rails Way books are really good resources for digging into the internals of rails and some of my favorite recommendations.

Which makes his batshit LI post all the more baffling. What in the ever living fuck is he talking about?

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You know what, fine, let’s see how it goes.

Honestly, I’d love more people to disrupt and try shit (that obviously won’t work, but still…). What I hate is that people try this kind of shit but get billions in a16z money which legitimizes the stupidity from the start. Then when they fail, they use the stupid money to convince others that they couldn’t have been the problem, otherwise they wouldn’t have ever “succeeded”.

Then they get another several billion…

This goddamned grifter economy sucks.

you want to escape, learn how the markets work and grab financial independence/freedom for yourself. that's where all these rich cunts gamble with their ratfucked public funds...you want it, it's there for the taking.

[–] Master167@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

This is a joke right?

[–] lessthanluigi@lemmy.sdf.org 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I read it as "From HR to France" as in "From Hrvatska to France" as in "From Croatia to France" lol

[–] yyyesss@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

i love coming across someone online that knows Hrvatska (HR) is the actual name of Croatia. many nonas (or bakas, language is hard) would be proud

oprosti, yako malo govorim Hrvatski

[–] vane@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I wonder how Obie automates shitting and eating on github because it's repetitive process.

[–] MonkderVierte@lemmy.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Fine, so you run it alone then.
