I know a vegan girl and she lives off of spice and soda.

wait dorito is vegan? are you sure? a lot of spice mixes (i'm looking at you fritolay) use chicken bouillon in their "barbecue" mixes because they suck
Famously everything other then cheese and onion is vegan, including Smokey Bacon somehow.
Mostly dairy products which make it non-vegan. Certainly not chicken bouillon
this feels like a strawman. I dont think anyone is going vegan to lose weight. 99% of people you see talk about it do it for ethical reasons.
Bill Clinton did it to, though I think his doctor basically said he was dead if he didn’t.
i was in a "new vegan converts" fb group and a number of people stated they went vegan for vague "health benefits" and/or weight loss, they certainly exist
There's often a confusion between people who go "whole-food plant-based" for personal health reasons, and people who go vegan which is about animal's rights. Of course a person can want both too.
In any case, people who adopt more plant-centric diets do often see a reduction is bodyweight, but it's not guaranteed. As the pic up top shows, it can still be very easy to have an unhealthy lifestyle even if it is plant-based.
The vegan I knew in college actually warned people about weight gain while she was pushing her veganism on us. "Its hard not to replace everything with carbs" was basically her spiel.
There's nothing wrong with carbs. Most of what I eat is carbs.
I did lose 10kg in 4 months when I cut a heavy portion of meat from my diet but that was because I was basically eating once a day and when I was still hungry in the evening I had rice with corn afterwards. I was not broke but cheap and keeping my fridge empty made it less likely to take something out of nothing.
Yeah but I did it for ethical reasons and ended up gaining weight very quickly lol
Vegans eat a LOT of beans to be healthy.
Hey, vegan here! Idk, I guess I do? I eat a lot of tofu which is soy, so if you count that then YEAH. But tofu is so easy to make into what you want it to be that it rarely feels like the same thing, you know? I eat a lot MORE beans then before, but I never stopped to think about it...
The only way I'd be able to tell is if someone watched my diet and went "eating enough beans, my guy?" Lol
That's only a downside for the coworkers
Your body adapts. It's mainly down to your gut microbiome being able to handle it.
