it looks like this story has fallen off the front page; they don't need a gun since 90% of the people are just pretending that it doesn't matter.
Specifically the people who decide what goes on the front page. The adage if it bleeds, it leads doesn’t apply to stories the powerful would rather bury.
It’s a nation of capitalists. The unimpeachable pedo ring is just one example out of countless others that capitalist states are oligarchies, no matter the democratic veneer. Most of them aren’t pedophiles, but nearly all of them will protect their own. The pedo ring, as disguising as it is, is only a symptom of the system, a natural consequence of it.
I remember bits and pieces of that Karl Minx quote where he talks about consent with a woman who's legally able to consent is sexy.
