It’s a site frequently used for data analytic contests - better Bayesian algorithms to weed out spam, detect malware, etc. I guess at some point it pivoted to AI. Yup: “AI & ML”

It's also Microsoft's get-out-of-jail-free card here; someone else ripped the ebooks, processed them, and uploaded them under a CC0 Public Domain license. "How were we meant to know the release wasn't authorized?"

I just loved that someone actually put their name and gmail address on this horrid copyright infringement (on kaggle) and appears to have gotten away with it. That’s hysterical.
