I did this with mdma and ended up in the icu
I had a homemade edible once and was explicitly told to take only half because it was strong. It had 0 effect. Years later I visited Amsterdam and decided to try again. The guy told me to only take a quarter for starters. I followed the instructions, but again felt nothing, so I ended up eating over half. Well, this time it actually did work. Awful experience. I was blacking out, super paranoid, super nauseous and dizzy. 0/10 would not do again, lol.
I took three once and forgot how to walk. Absolutely terrifying moment of my life. Never did it again. That was as the end.
I avoided this mistake by giving up (I only had two with me anyway). It took six hours to feel my buzz and it only lasted a few minutes.

Edit: edibles do shit for me. I smoked one joint and puffed furiously. Had a stomach ache AND a bad trip. Not a good start. Edibles also give me heart burn and they aren't fun. Music doesn't get more interesting and I dont get any funky visions.
Magic mushrooms on the other hand...
