How about just republicans. If you vote for trump, it automatically signs you up for the draft.
Nah, to partisan. Id agree with, if your representative doesn't vote in the war time resolution to not go to war, then you are added to the draft list. Doesn't matter if you are a Republican, Democrat, independent, or didn't vote. It would make the representative actually have to represent their constituents, and face the wrath of their constituents if they go against them. (Also, no one exempt from the draft, don't look at age, sex, wealth etc. random selection off of everyone). If your 76 year old grandma gets called to go, she goes. Overweight? You'll probably die in boot camp.

You want to send grandma and grandpa to war? They fought in Korea and Viet Nam, and some of them in the Gulf War. They're sick of war. And, while some of them are MAGA, they are those who voted for "no new wars" and are now pissed at Trump.

Bernie isn't a boomer. He's actually so old he's in the silent generation that was before the boomers. 1941. Basically he was born before WW2 ended, so no one came back and had all the wreckless sex starting the baby boom yet

Discrete generations aren't even a real thing. The idea that 2 people born in consecutive years are in different generations is absurd. They have more in common than 2 people born at the opposite ends of a generation label.

Not enough? Have a domestic war on "drugs", selectively target blacks and Latinos, and give them free housing in a state or federal prison.
Nah Vietnam was because there cold war was too cold and that's not good for military industrial complex. 60k people is not really enough to make a huge difference in housing.
I mean, with modern drone armies, there's less and less need to restrict the draft to they young...

I mean modern weapons are so easy to use that even the elderly can be effective with them. I agree, let's draft them. More jobs, more houses for real Americans

There is a compelling argument to partially revert to the days of warrior kings. Every government who wants war has to be conscripted to fight on the front lines.
