Why aren't we doing this? I personally haven't found the option to turn into a bat yet

[–] yermaw@sh.itjust.works 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Literally the only issue with the plan

[–] Yondoza@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Ethicists were too preoccupied with whether or not they should, they didn't stop and think if they could.

[–] RiceMunk@sopuli.xyz 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Have you tried becoming a vampire?

[–] untorquer@quokk.au 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Think of how long it would take to count that high

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

One! One aeon of eternity, ah ah ah! Two! Two aeons...

“We expected that they fly around each other and they never have physical contact,” Hristov said. “We have found, shocking to us, that bats crash into each other quite often. It’s a messy situation, but generally it’s very safe and it works very well.”

This implies a ideal gas law for bats, an ideal bat law, bat liquid, bat solid, and bat plasma

In the US, only 33 cars for 50 people is optimistic

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I have a better question - why isn’t this posted in the !bats@lemmy.world community? We would love it here. Stealing and crossposting now.

[–] RmDebArc_5@piefed.zip 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I simply wasn't aware of the community, I'll remember it next time

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

It’s definitely a much smaller community than lemmyshitpost, but we love anything bat-related!

I don't recall this version of Batman but I'm all for it.

Vampire propaganda.

[–] Jankatarch@lemmy.world 15 points 1 week ago (4 children)

The 50 pedestrians vs 50 people in a bus is messing with my brain.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yeah they must really be crammed in there.

[–] uniquethrowagay@feddit.org 1 points 6 days ago

A single-story coach has seats for about 50 people. Low-floor city busses a little less, but you can get 50 in there with people standing

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 week ago

Double decker?

[–] Dicska@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

50 pedestrians the way they prefer it. A bus with 50 people on board, where everyone is in each other's personal space.

So a bus is more space efficient than pedestrians?

[–] kapulsa@feddit.org 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Often times, yes. Because sitting/standing requires less space than walking and that makes up for the extra space of the bus.

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I guess walking is like humans being in a gas state, and riding a bus is humans arranging themselves into a solid. But idk what liquid humans would be lol

If we ever run out of room for humans to walk around I think we're cooked busses or not.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The nice part about riding the bus is you can kick back, relax, and smoke a ton of weed while you travel.

[–] Hossenfeffer@feddit.uk 14 points 1 week ago

Just like the driver!

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, fuck busses. Bats are way more eco friendly.

It's more efficient to stack pedestrians on top of each other.

Imagine the amount of mosquitoes you could fit.

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Imagine the amount of mosquitos you could fit if they were inside in the bats’ bellies! They eat like their weight in bugs every night.

[–] dumbass@piefed.social 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah but you have that wasted space where all the bats flesh and bones are, that could be used to fill with more mosquitoes.

You will certainly not regret having 150,000 bats.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

And now the traffic report:

"I'm over Ventura Blvd., and all the vampires walking in the Valley are heading west."

[–] JayDee@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Those humans are quite large.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Much larger than bats.

[–] TheTechnician27@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What if, to save space over cars but keep the personal comfort, everyone had their own hiding place with entrance hidden by brick and rubble?

[–] myotheraccount@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

That's 150 thousand bats (i am not the mathematics manager though - she was probably hit by that bus)

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

are these american thousands or are these weird european thousands with extra zeroes like their weird millions and billions tho. they have been getting sneaky beaky with their numbers, the way they count things all discrete like.

SNEAKY.

BEAKY.
