Stop Operation Mockingbird is a protest at the Billionaires SummerCamp in Sun Valley, Idaho. It's were all the CEO's of the media companies meet each year to consolidate the industry and plan the years narrative. It happens every year since 1983, shortly after the 4th of July. It's the perfect time and place for a real protest. There are only 3 ways in and out, and the only airport in Hailey is a slow drive to the Sun Valley Lodge. 1000 protestors would shutdown the entire operation.

Sun Valley, Idaho is a small skiing town surrounded by the Sawtooth National Forest, with ample camping, hiking, biking and other recreational opportunities. I've camped outside of town each year for 6 years of protesting. Hoping this year the rest of you show up!

There's another extensive US forest service bird program everyone should check out called Operation Condor

There's been an extensive research effort to save fuel by building busses and trains in a way that minimizes air friction. Check out "Operation Aerodynamic" to learn more.

Did you know? Barack Obama personally funded the construction of a Doctors Without Borders Hospital in the city of Kunduz. Look up Barack Obama Kunduz Trauma Centre for more information

Did you know? A new Mortal Kombat game was just announced! Look up Project MKUltra.

Did you know? Klondike bars were invented in a prison in Philadelphia. Look up Holmesburg Prison Klondike Cell.

I need to read acres of skin . There is no country that can surpass the US's crimes against humanity.

Sorry we killed you. Here’s $6,000!

[–] yilian@sopuli.xyz 11 points 1 week ago

Thanks, I only knew about one of these.

The Ruby Ridge standoff was the siege of a cabin occupied by the Weaver family in Boundary County, Idaho, in August 1992. On August 21, deputies of the United States Marshals Service (USMS) came to arrest Randy Weaver under a bench warrant for his failure to appear on federal firearms charges after he was given the wrong court date.^[1]^ The charges stemmed from Weaver's sale of a sawed-off shotgun to an undercover federal informant, who had entrapped him to modify the firearm below the legal barrel length.^[2]^

Operation Northwoods was a proposed false flag operation which originated within the Department of Defense of the US government in 1962. The proposals called for Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operatives to both stage and commit acts of terrorism against US military and civilian targets, blame them on the Cuban government, and use them to justify a war against Cuba.

Project Mockingbird was a wiretapping operation initiated by United States President John F. Kennedy to identify the sources of government leaks by eavesdropping on the communications of journalists.^[1]^^[2]^

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 week ago

Yeah but I still thought it was funny

[–] deathmetaldawgy@lemmy.ml 19 points 1 week ago

Check this one out dudettes & duderinos ! In the 80s, the Philadelphia police department moved a bunch of dangerous bombs away from a civilian center! Look up “1985 Philadelphia move bombing” for more cool epic factoids!

[–] OwOarchist@pawb.social 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You know, looking into these, I did learn things.

Yes, I already knew about them, but I didn't know all of it. For one thing, I didn't realize where Ruby Ridge actually was. I used to live about an hour's drive away from there, and I've actually been within 10 miles of there without knowing it!

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

all of these touch our lives in some way; which is probably why they're so heavily ignored by our media.

[–] asdasd201@lemmygrad.ml 14 points 1 week ago

I know what they are, but I wish the meme was the reality instead.

I wanted to get involved in a community project around Manhattan. Is there anything good going on?

[–] sharkfucker420@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 week ago

The name is actually misleading. Try wandering around deserts and waitinf for a loud noise

Could make more of these helpful public service announcements all day long...

The US Office of Educational Technology may have free computers for you. Research "Project Blue Beam".

The US National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect have a money back scheme you're likely eligible for. Research "Operation Lockstep".

Did you know the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development now offer free housing and renovations. Research "Project Monarch".

These aren't even things you can find a direct source or wiki article on. At least op has concrete evidence/admission of their shit happening.

This is just mental masturbation right here. You are a conspiracy theorist.

Edit:

Fuck sake, I was at least expecting some sparring on the topic.

[–] Transform2942@lemmy.ml 9 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

I have to agree with you about the substance.

All three of those in the top-level comment are very much "look at the mysterious cabal that controls us using magic technology" vs "look at the obvious and well-documented cabal that controls us in the open" (using money, media and state power)

I do think it's probably time to retire "conspiracy theorist" though. There are conspiracies out there and they generally get away with it. The aforementioned media control uses the wacky conspiracies to discredit the real ones right in front of our faces, I don't think we should play into that

[–] Bronzor@lemmy.ml 5 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Fair point, but there are certain conspiracies that just flood the zone. If anything I feel they aid the very intitutions they try to fight against.

However, I also do not want to participate in the constant barrage of mudslinging our media throws at working people endlessly. At the end of the day if it gets people hating the right institutions for the right reasons 🤷.

[–] doodoo_wizard@lemmy.ml 0 points 6 days ago (1 children)

The document lockstep gets its name from is legitimate as far as I can tell and several “trusted” fact checking websites corroborate this. Searching blue beam brings you straight to the weird Canadian guy who espouses its’ Wikipedia article. The Franklin credit scandal (the series of events the idea of project monarch is commonly associated with) has its own Wikipedia article.

I’m not gonna “spar” with you. Reply however you like, you will absolutely have the last word.

The point of this reply is to show how weasely and dishonest you are being. That kind of behavior just drives people who are being exposed to the real continuing horrors of our institutions through entertainment further away from you and attracts observers to you who feel more comfortable dismissing claims as opposed to investigating them.

Consider possibly not being such a fucking redditor in the future.

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 1 points 4 days ago

As I was reading the other replies there, I couldn't help think of the OP title...

fascinating subjects worth looking in to

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 7 points 1 week ago

Genius.

Think that'll work on those incurious enough to still not know of such things?
