Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

We need a LOT more of this kind of political action.

Come on you living beanbag chairs of Lemmy, get out there and either run or help someone like this run. We can STILL save this shit if we all just got off our asses and started exercising basic human emotions again and learned to care about things. Passion for causes doesn't just make you feel accomplished, it makes the ladies and lads-who-wear-cat-ears wanna snuggle up to you. Whatever the fuck ya'll are into nowadays.

Leave your goddamn phone at home. Get an old Nokia or fish one from the river so you can take calls from the campaign staff. Just so you can't scroll.

Heck yeah! I don't care what party they are of, so long as they are true Americans like I think I am I see no issue voting for them if they got something positive to contribute to our country.

We're in a WTF moment. Things like reducing funding for women's health, WTF! Eliminating EPA strength to allow pollution and endangered animal hunting, destroying data about the climate change and vaccines, removing funding from new advanced vaccine technology, removing innocent migrants, etc. Holy fuck, WTF are they doing!!!???!!!

This was brilliantly stated and you've inspired me! Thank you for sharing this with us all. This is just what everyone needs to hear.

It was the cat ear thing wasn't it?

Please just don't have a stroke Graham.

Read a bit further. Looks like Katie Porter's former chief of staff also running: https://electjordan.com/#issues

Difference I can see right now is that Graham Platner is calling for M4A, Jordon is calling to "protect and strengthen Obamacare". Kind-of a tell on Jordon's part. Also i don't know what to make of Jordon's line "Its time for courage, not concern". Like bruh its long past time for concern.

Any Mainers care to weigh in?

[–] ultranaut@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Not a Mainer but that line is poking at Collins, who has developed a reputation for expressing concerns about things and then lacking the courage to vote against them.

Just let me know which one of them has the chutzpah to call Israeli's actions a genocide.

If you don't have the "courage" for that much, then you're going to be dead weight when its time for a domestic Truth and Reconciliation Commission to uncover the dirt in our own backyard.

Platner told Zeteo that Israel's U.S.-backed assault on Gaza, which was a flashpoint in New York City's Democratic primary, is "the ultimate moral test of our time."

Well there it is then. I'm sold.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

My money is on Graham for that, considering he's directly calling for Schumer to step down. My money would go to Jordon calling for "defensive aid only", but its early days.

That's a pretty solid platform

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

Yeah. I agree. Its worth noting its a wide field right now.

But the centrist seems to be hedging. My guess is that this bites the centrist in the ass.
