$70 for 10-11 home depot buckets of potato salad is absolutely ridiculous. Who would buy that? Is that even sanitary? Yuck.

Anyways I gotta go see a guy about a thing. Really important. Don't wait up.

Dude...this is where food comes from in most restaurants, 5 gallon buckets.

Damn well it was said on the internet so I guess I have no choice but to believe this is entirely true

They’re right. Bulk ingredients, and prepared salads and stuff are almost always in big plastic buckets.

What a weird thing to engage your skeptic disbelief about, something really easy to look up and I mean kind of obvious if you think about the logistics of serving thousands of people in a restaurant.

I fired that off in the middle of the night assuming he was just doing a bit and riffing back. Wasn't trying to have an actual argument. Interesting to find out though!

Why does he require one person to buy all ten buckets? He'd be more likely to find a willing & slightly less insane customer if he'd sell each bucket for $7.

that is absolutely not enough paprika to season those buckets

[–] Kumikommunism@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

well now you've talked me out of it

[–] titter@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Fantastic staging! The mini home depot buckets really sell themselves!

the lack of any punctuation aside from the hyphen and dollar signs hurt my brain like he just kept going and going and even though logically there should have been a comma or a full stop also known as a period at any point he chose not to what an absolute chad and now I have discovered the superiority of punctuationless typing I will never go back thank you potata salad man for enlightening me
