I think they do know, just don't care since too much was invested into AI. So they stuff it in hoping to make money back.
Then they have to do it "right" you build the OS using the following ingredients:
- A LLM
- Block diagram of the phone
- A bunch of datasheets
- Screenshots of how it should look.
- Prompt: Make an AI Phone, don't make mistakes!
Done.
