If you're frugal then you might not have to be rich

And if you're fungal then you might be a witch

The trick to this is probably living in a very low cost-of-living country whilst part time remote working for a company in a high CoL country. Get the timezones right and you can wake up late enough that you don't need an alarm, and you can have the lifestyle for the coat of a few days a week in front of the computer.

Now to find that dream job and the right place to live. Shouldn't be hard... Right?

If this is rage bait by the OOP then god damn did I ever take the bait

The things described in the text aren't expensive, but the first photo was taken in a boat

The things described in the text imply a completely free schedule, so likely not working a job but still getting money coming in to support that lifestyle.

[–] Staden_@pawb.social 1 points 8 hours ago

If you are self employed you can have a less strict schedule and still make money deppending on how successful you are

I mean, rides in boats aren't expensive either if you don't own the boat.

The best boat is one owned by a friend. The same goes for campers/RVs

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Fuck, I own both of those in multiples... im cooked.

[–] TachyonTele@piefed.social 2 points 6 hours ago

You'll always have a friend asking around. Not always a bad thing

And pools! I've learned the hard way

[–] Soulphite@reddthat.com 1 points 7 hours ago (2 children)

Shit, my wife talked me into buying a house with a pool. I intend on doing the maintenance... am I fucked?

[–] severalkittens@ani.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Honestly, when we first moved in I struggled a ton with the water chemistry and finally changed the water this year. Everything is so much easier! Just start with fresh water and you should be fine

[–] mushroommunk@lemmy.today 4 points 7 hours ago

If you actually stay on top of it and do everything you're supposed to, no. The people I see compassion the most are the ones who don't put a cover on our treat the pool or swap filters and then piss and moan when they have to vacuum leaves or pull all the algae and so on.

Just like with a house, keep on top of it, or rebuild when the pipes burst.

Now if you'll excuse me. I have a leaky copper pipe I need to go ignore

[–] SchmidtGenetics@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

And how do you do that without earning said money?

[–] U7826391786239@piefed.zip 8 points 8 hours ago

people like this are so funny when i say "ok, great, send me all your extra money then"
