Remember how Google tried to shove Google+ down everyone's throat? And G+ was a better social network compared to Facebook.

And now we're talking slop that people REALLY disn't ask for.

Google+ was a great product when it first launched and was quite popular among the tech crowd. I remember having a G+ page and using it more than I ever wanted to use Facebook and co. It was a pretty well liked product among its niche userbase but then they tried to shove it into YouTube and force everyone to use it for YouTube interactions and then everyone hated it. Forcing your product where it doesn't belong is a great way to dumpster your product's reputation.

Missed the wave? They’re the ones who released chatGPT.

These motherfuckers started the wave and are salty cause it didn’t help them long term.

I don't know how Microslop is managing to stay around. They haven't been at the front of any tech innovations since Windows. And Windows have steadily been going downhill too.

I guess they are still around because they somehow convinced most corporations to use Windows back in the early days when it was good and the switch to Linux has been slow because everything now depends on windows in those corporations and switching is expensive.

Haahaha, yeah they missed it.... Like missing a barn with a shot gun, it's literally still right there with new people coming in all the time to full their pockets with venture cap and delivery nothing of value.

All they had to do was not fuck over the consumer.

They could have put a new icon in to apply unique snapchat style webcam filters in, watch for priority emails and give them to you in rank order, remind you of things owed and files that were sent to you.

They could have give you a smart todo list and quitely built a new product with it that people would use.

Noooo they had capture your screen, store it unencrypted, try to hide/downplay they were doing it, fuck over notepad, fuck over paint.

It was the easiest wave to ride that dozens of other companies are relatively successful at.
