This article is a great example of why downvoting doesn't work as intended and might as well be disabled.

I'm glad this was shared, now I am better informed. But the score currently sits at -14 for me, because people are downvoting based on their opinions of what's in the article. That discourages posters from posting articles like this in the future. Which may mean we see less information.

Please, don't downvote like this.

No negative, only happy, you will be happy. Toxic positivity.

Just consider this option before rejecting it:

Bad faith, trolling, community or instance rule-breaking, and other edge cases deserve downvotes. Everything said in good faith even if you disagree with it deserves no-votes or upvotes.

The benefit is that this does not chill discussions and create an echo chamber. Because that's what downvoting just because you don't agree does. It means those people and opinions and stories just don't appear after you disincentivize people from posting them. And it's worse for stories - a smart person will want to see stories that reflect reality, even if you don't like them (which is what this post is).

So actually, the type of downvoting you are (I assume) defending is precisely what creates that no negative, only happy, toxic positivity safe space.

I'm not defending it at all, I'm agreeing with you.

The point behind my sarcasm is saying that those who downvote content they dislike rather than content they think don't belong want toxic positivity, or at least that's the end result they're willingly or unwillingly aiming for.

Sorry, my bad. I have seen so many people argue against this that I saw a phantom. All good and my apologies!

No worries, I admit my comment was kinda vague 😅

agentic AI

Everybody needs to know what that means.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agentic_AI

In the context of generative artificial intelligence, AI agents (also referred to as compound AI systems or agentic AI) are a class of intelligent agents that can pursue goals, use tools, and take actions with varying degrees of autonomy.

A cybernetic organism sent from the future to terminate the future leader of the resistance.

Time to migrate services from Google if you haven't already

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah... that was about 10 years ago.

[–] emmy67@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Some people take more nudging

[–] A_norny_mousse@piefed.zip 1 points 1 month ago

Absolutely. And it's definitely easier today even if Google services themselves have also developed further.

Let's keep on nudging. https://di.day/en/digital-switch-recipes

Who's hosting your email? I'd like to migrate, I'm just facing a bit of choice paralysis.

[–] osanna@lemmy.vg 2 points 1 month ago

I was with fastmail for a bit, and they were decent af. But then I got iCloud and they host my mail now. Considering going back to fast mail tbh

[–] majster@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 month ago

Runbox, very simple, I exclusively use desktop/mobile generic email clients
