Merging the PR and merging into traffic!

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 311 points 5 days ago (3 children)

This seems dangerous for both the codebase and the cars around them.

thinks of the code first, humans second

Crashing and then crashing

[–] ArseAssassin@sopuli.xyz 20 points 5 days ago

How to crash your software and hardware at once.

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

In case of crash git revert or git reset --hard idbeforecrash

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago
git rebase acura

When the cost of living is so egregiously high that not only do you need two jobs, but you have to do them at the same time

[–] ViatorOmnium@piefed.social 35 points 5 days ago (5 children)

A software engineer needs two jobs. Which means most people need at least 4. Or 3 if they live under a bridge.

Half-assing two jobs at once

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 34 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Ok, obviously merging while you merge is super dangerous. Almost as dangerous as using light mode on your phone. The rider should've known he was a sociopath just from that.

[–] BJ_and_the_bear@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Hey, I prefer light mode. There are dozens of us!

[–] ilinamorato@lemmy.world 16 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Nothing in life really prepares you for meeting such an unfathomable being...

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago (2 children)

It’s mind blowing but there are people who really do prefer it! Don’t forget to leave an optional light mode for them!

Do NOT let me do this, I will actually be rage-merging on the road. "LFGTM 😡" bypass branch protection rules

[–] eager_eagle@lemmy.world 30 points 5 days ago

force push to master

[–] jadelord@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 4 days ago

Somebody tell that dude that having a "bus factor" doesn't mean you should actively seek getting run over by a bus!

[–] Batman@lemmy.world 37 points 5 days ago

Yo Dawg, I heard you like merging. ..

[–] Typewar@infosec.pub 30 points 5 days ago

It's worth mentioning that this guy and the "Uber driver" works in the same company

probably the only time they can actually successfully merge

This is a concept known as CAC (configuration as code) - the driver made changes to the route, making the change visible, reversible, safe, auditable and testable. It's also great for the PRs merged per day metric!

Cabdriving As Code

[–] marlowe221@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I’m not sure if that is impressive or terrifying.

[–] fckreddit@lemmy.ml 11 points 5 days ago

Personally, I find it depressing.

You know those motorised lifts they install in old peoples homes to help them get upstairs?
