The 79-year-old US President made the unusual admission during an appearance on Fox and Friends, just a day after hosting European leaders, including Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the White House. Linking his legacy to global diplomacy, Trump remarked that if he succeeds in brokering peace between Ukraine and Russia, it might help secure him a place in the afterlife.

Oh if only there was cosmic justice waiting for people like him. Unfortunately he gets to live the life he wants and never has to answer for anything. Double unfortunately he's little more than a cancer cell of a much larger disease that won't die with him.

This calls for celebration 🍾

South Park already showed us Trump and Satan's relationship.

The headline is entirely inaccurate.

From the article:

Donald Trump has sparked fresh health concerns after confessing he is 'not doing well' when it comes to his chances of getting into heaven.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 2 points 34 minutes ago

People are so desperate to hear that either Trump or Putin is about to die, these stories have been popping up every few months for a decade or more.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 1 points 16 minutes ago

In a way it's more interesting that Trump has some awareness that he's not a good guy.

[–] IHeartBadCode@fedia.io 16 points 3 hours ago

Satan: Holy shit, we're going to need to make some renovations to match this guy's punishment. Tell the daemons in Cocytus we need something between Antenora and Ptolomaea.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

They've got to be worried about him waking up in the morning if they're admitting to this.

[–] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 26 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

I'd rather him experience some level of fucking consequences for once in his life. But for the sake of humanity I will also accept his health failing.

Death, after all, claims everyone,
You find it everywhere.
It catches up with even those
Who wear their noses in the air.

The whole, wide world is ruled
With a certain justice, so
That helps perhaps to sweeten
The poor man's pain and woe.

He might still! The rules don't say he needs to be alive, just that if he dies then the VP takes over. Once dead though ..

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

There's nothing in the rules that says a dog can't play basketball!

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

don't worry. they'll have some of those museum taxidermists rip everything out and preserve him with an animatronic skeleton.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

What if they coerce the corner into refusing to certify the death and they just have a trump themed llm run the animatronic and they all just pretend he's still alive

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

Well, the llm is definitely happening.

But he’s gonna die, and they’re gonna let Vance have his presidency for a weekend, and then they’re gonna trot Trump back out as some kind of zombie-god-king.

Yes. Shit is creepy. Welcome to the republican creep show.

[–] panda_abyss@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

He’s looks especially awful these last few weeks.

As for a place in the afterlife, you don’t get to sell your soul then try to get into heaven.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 1 points 26 minutes ago

you don’t get to sell your soul then try to get into heaven.

That's pretty much exclusively what American Christianity is today.

Article is shit. Doesn’t include the quote or context. At least I didn’t see it in the reader version that loaded for me. That said, hearing his quote in full context, I interpreted that as he doesn’t feel he is doing well in terms of honorable/benevolent deeds or accomplishments. I may be wrong, I guess you could hear it either way, but that’s the impression I got.

The clock is ticking on him, but we will be the last to know what time it is. (Or something like that. Sounded poetic in my head)

tl;dnr I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I don’t think he is saying that he is dying soon.

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 20 minutes ago

I mostly agree, I think.

I think the quote is taken out of context.

However, it's unusual for someone like Trump to mention the afterlife - although we shouldn't read too much into that.

Having said that, the guy is ~80.

Aren't many overweight 85 year olds around.

It would be interesting to see some stats on life expectancy for someone his age and weight.

I wouldn't be suprised if it's something like 20% chance of dying in the next 12 months, then if he's still alive in 1 year a 30% chance of dying in the following 12 months, then 40% and so on. The chances of him making 90 are infinitessimal.

So yeah, any commentary is conjecture, but it's not just noise.

cmon.. just a little more im almost there.

[–] wuffah@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

Let’s create a real hell, fund it, and send him there for the rest of his life.

[–] Agosagror@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

This is going to be a comment.

I really hope trumps keeps kicking till 2028, Vance would be worse as far as I can tell. Trump wants to be popular, liked etc. Vance seems to only want power. This might be just wrong though.

However I am very confident that Trumps incompetence and dementia actively get in the way of him doing as much harm as he probably would otherwise. And Vance doesnt have these issues to the same degree, hes a perfect puppet of those who control him. Unlike trump.

Either way Im scared.

[–] phdepressed@sh.itjust.works 1 points 30 minutes ago

I wonder if Vance can keep the facist cult going or whether Trump's death would be a death of Stalin type thing. Like there could be some more effective infighting when cult control isn't as established.

[–] Bonus@lemmy.world 7 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago) (1 children)

Foo, you killed a million+ people. You're getting a ride on the hell express.

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 10 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 1 hour ago) (2 children)

An estimated 1.5 million people in fact. He killed the equivalent of every man, woman, and child of both Washington DC and Boston. Astounding that the MSM has completely ignored the ocean of blood on his hands.

[–] Bonus@lemmy.world 4 points 3 hours ago

Legacy media has been more than disappointing.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Some of those would have died anyway, so probably around 1.49 million.

[–] Linktank@lemmy.today 7 points 3 hours ago

Die in pain you sack of inadequacy.

[–] TorJansen@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Oh great, he dies in office unprosecuted for his latest crimes and the Epstein deal, and namby pamby, push-me-around Vance gets kinged. And he's more pliable than Trump.

[–] Kyrgizion@lemmy.world 6 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Where he's going, he'll be able to drink all the gold he wants.

[–] WhatGodIsMadeOf@feddit.org 4 points 3 hours ago

I predict he still won't be doing well, and he'll be doing it in hell.
