"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

“The rise of OpenAI is attributable to a web of deceit and the exploitation of users (including Floridians), leveraging their data and safety to boost OpenAI’s market value at unacceptable costs”

The civil action, seeking penalties and a court order rather than criminal charges, said Uthmeier “seeks to hold Altman personally liable for the harm he has caused Floridians through his reckless and willful conduct as founder and CEO of OpenAI, including his utter disregard for the risk to human life caused by his firms’ conduct.”

So many mind boggling security risks aren't being considered with programs like Claude. It should still be considered doxxing if somebody asks AI to generate a look a like photo. Worst person you know is getting gassed and glazed simultaneously by a chatbot.

this is just desantis throwing elon a bone. his lawsuit failed but he still needs to tank their ipo so he can have a bigger slice of the pie. if it weren't him, it would be abbot in tx.

it'd be hilarious if the lawsuit was just a long con for them to publicly admit that it's not profitable.

They won't be getting anywhere as nearly every company in their state requires harm to life. Good luck proving harm isn't the norm.

Fortunately, I don't think the judge will ask them to do that.

Are they going to sue every company too?
