Lemme guess, it started on Fox News?

What are they distracting from now, still the Epstein files? Trump backtracking on Portland and considering that Fox might be wrong about it? The Church shooter being MAGA? The list is too long, they need to keep pumping out the distractions.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 hours ago

The need to to sensationalize everything needs to stop. The only place I've seen outrage is in headlines, which dropped at the same time of the announcement. There isn't even time for genuine thought before they write the narrative.

The Fairness Doctrine needs to make a comeback.

I hope Mr. Bunny has a great security team, because those fuckers are crazy and known to shoot people they fear.

Maybe they ought to listen to some Bad Bunny before they complain. My Spanish is terrible, but I still find his songs catchy.

I think it’s only fair to swap between a liberal and Kid Rock each year.

[–] FosterMolasses@leminal.space 5 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I see Kendrick Lamar got the last helicopter out of Saigon.

It's gonna be more shit like this going forward. I don't know who in their right mind would agree to do a half-time show with the current state the country is in. It's like performing for the fuhrer in 1939.

[–] ValarieLenin@midwest.social 1 points 6 hours ago

Umm bad bunny is a straight up bop maker. Saigon didn't stop existing when the USA pulled out

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 7 points 9 hours ago

Die mad, losers.

[–] BruisedMoose@piefed.social 7 points 9 hours ago

I am an old person and really know nothing about him, but looking at the thumbnail, I do remember enjoying his hit song "Dick in a Box."

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 5 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Never heard of this guy until he hosted SNL. He was great and has a very good sense of humour. I liked him. Then, very recently, he showed up in Happy Gilmore 2 and again, he was great! I don't listen to new music anymore so I can't comment on that (I'm old and ignorant).

[–] HuskerNation@lemmy.zip 3 points 6 hours ago

I'm 47 I'm always looking for new music I think why most people stop searching for new music is because music and memories are strongly associated with one another so if you have good memories of music you grew up with you tend not to seek out new stuff.

I'm always seeking out new punk bands or industrial metal or political metal that goes against the right wing. And I have an 11-year-old daughter so I get to hear some of the new pop and whatever else is coming out there are some gems if you look hard enough

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

And most of it's in Spanish. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 21 points 13 hours ago

Those dickheads really do have some fucked up priorities, don't they. The county's on the brink of full fascism, and they 'melt down' over the most inconsequential bullshit.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 18 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

They have to face so many disappointments lately. Several shooters that were not queer black illegal aliens, ICE removing their cheapest ~~slaves~~ employees, and now no country singer for the halftime show.

That is more than those snowflakes can stand.

[–] krooklochurm@lemmy.ca 3 points 11 hours ago

I've always found a great way to deal with disappointment is to just eat razor blades dipped medical waste until the disappointment fades away. Hopefully they can give it a shot and it works for them too.

I CANT Wait for our SMALL GOVERNMENT to Threaten the NFL if they Dont Change Artists!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 43 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

The right wing are such tender little soy boys.

[–] CoopaLoopa@lemmy.dbzer0.com 18 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

About to have a lot more soy in their diet now that they have $12 billion USD worth of soybeans that China isn't going to purchase.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 5 points 11 hours ago

Something tells me soy is about to get a real big brand facelift soon

Ha! Dudes popular, why not?

[–] Theprogressivist@lemmy.world 153 points 1 day ago (3 children)

When aren't they having a meltdown for the stupidest things?

[–] TheMadCodger@piefed.social 59 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

For such a "tough guy" culture, it's amazing how they live in such constant fear of… everything.

Pretty much always.

The media continually paint them as having a meltdown, but in reality it’s their state of being; the reactionary hate is where they live.

If you hear “ does and the far right say they’re OK with that….” be VERY concerned about whatever was.

Inb4 they say its unamerican to have a Puerto Rican do the super bowl halftime show, because theyre too stupid to realize that Puerto Ricans are Americans

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 83 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Guaranteed the far-right does not see them as Americans.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 15 points 17 hours ago

Our dumb fuck president didn't know he was the president of Puerto Rico last time. I think most of them don't even know it exists to have an opinion on them being American or not.

[–] Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world 65 points 23 hours ago

Guaranteed the far-right doesn't see them as people.

It’s not the NFL’s fault country music sucks

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 11 points 18 hours ago

They should have gotten Springstien and Trump's head would have exploded.

[–] chiocciola@lemmy.cafe 29 points 22 hours ago (5 children)

And yet Spanish speaking voters are still erect for Trump.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 22 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

Maybe not anymore, a few polls have shown reduced support for Trump among Hispanics, probably because his goons assume they are illegal because they're brown.

We tried to warn them....

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (2 children)

Try telling that to my half Mexican brother and his Mexican wife. If anything, their positive opinion of Trump has gone through the roof. They love seeing the "pisas" get deported.

They don't seem to realize that they're next once ICE runs out of easy targets.

[–] Dragonstaff@leminal.space 2 points 10 hours ago (3 children)

It's weird as hell that white people are constantly talking about nonwhites who support Trump. The only demographic which the majority votes Republican is "white people". Talk to your white family and friends and convince them to vote for Democrats.

[–] Psythik@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

I thought you could tell through context that I'm mixed race, but thanks for sharing.

[–] wanderingmagus@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 hours ago

East Asian older population seems rather universally Republican. Especially Chinese-Americans.

[–] shawn1122@sh.itjust.works 1 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Shifting blame is part of the political game.

No democratic presidential nominee has won a majority of the white vote since Democrats supported the civil rights act in 1964. Not even Jimmy Carter after the Nixon debacle. He only won 45% of the white vote. How the majority of white people voted Republican even in those circumstances is mind boggling.

A majority of white people supported Trump for the past three elections and white liberals love to blame PoC, especially for the most recent election because they can't put together a persuasive message to people in their own community. They're constantly vying for PoC to swoop in and save them instead of putting in the work.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

I think it all depends on whether ICE has harassed them directly, or someone they know. Today's Conservatives have no empathy at all, they only care about things that affect them personally.

I have no idea who bad bunny is. But I also have no idea who is in the superbowl. I just hope the commercials are good.

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago (5 children)

I think it's Football this year
