It was a misstranslation. We are getting fucked by robots.

it has been suggested that ‘the cultural moment belongs to sex robots’ and that ‘sex dolls are along for the ride’ (Ruberg
2022, 24). Nowhere is this more evident than in the ‘sex robot brothel’ controversies
that have materialized across Asia, Europe, and North America over the past two
decades. Despite often self-describing or being described as ‘sex robot brothels’, these
enterprises are typically commercial venues or private residences that rent lifelike sex
dolls by the hour. None of these establishments provide access to existing sex robots –
hyper-realistic silicone sex dolls equipped with robotic heads and accompanying AI soft-
ware.2 Similarly, none but one of these businesses offers the services of human sex
workers despite billing themselves and being billed as brothels – premises where sex
workers engage in sexual services with clients (OED.com).3 A standout business is that
of Cybrothel. Established in 2020 and based in Berlin, Cybrothel provides a unique ‘Ana-
logue AI’ brothel experience wherein customers can rent synthetic sex dolls who are
‘brought to life’ by remotely located voice actresses/sex workers using strategically
placed cameras and speakers (Culley 2023; Hanson and Smith 2024).

Oh god, New Vegas was right about Fisto. Can't wait for one of these to actually be saying "Assume the position".

Thank goodness! Finally these MAGA dipshits can get laid and chill the fuck out!

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 7 points 19 hours ago (2 children)

Yeah the incel community might finally get some release.

[–] don@lemmy.ca 5 points 17 hours ago

I strongly doubt that. These are incels. Their primary complaint is that feeeeeeeeemales of the human type won’t just give them whatever sex they want by virtue of the incels taking up space on the planet.

If anything, I’d expect them to revolt further, claiming that this is just an another attempt by the chads hoarding live Stacy vaginas to pacify the blackpilled into not shooting everyone up in “justified” incel fury.

As long as the robots don’t have any standards.

[–] FerretyFever0@fedia.io 4 points 18 hours ago

I mean, Google Gemini has "killed" itself SEVERAL times out of feelings of inadequacy. Who's to say that the ais don't eventually get standards accidentally programmed in?

[–] wetbeardhairs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 18 hours ago

Just give one of those boston dynamics robot dogs with the arm face thing a fleshlight or dildo.

[–] magic_lobster_party@fedia.io 4 points 19 hours ago

People are having relationships with robots though.

We still have 2 months guys, we must sbeve.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I don't mean to mock typos or anything, but what is that last word supposed to be? Or rather than a mistake is it some slang I don't know? Thanks in advance.

[–] PrivateNoob@sopuli.xyz 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Well this is just a pretty old meme reference. It just pokes fun at some instagram level motivational lines, where the some parts of the text "She believed" were highlighted showing "He lied", but some people deliberately took the script in the opposite way, so we have got "sbeve" without the highlighted text.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

TIL

I can be old as fuck and still have missed old memes. Thanks for explaining.

We did get the milking machine for sperm donations. I feel like that covers a lot of ground. I gotta wonder how many rich people have one of them somewhere in their house.

[–] IrateAnteater@sh.itjust.works 4 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

You talking "rich" as in "doing pretty well, financially" or "rich" as in "truely wealthy"? Because at some point, I'd imagine that the rich person would just hire a "housekeeper".

Billionaire Robert Kraft was caught at a low-end “massage parlor” in Florida. It seemed like a slam-dunk case but his lawyers were able to argue that the warrant allowing detectives to place hidden cameras in the rooms didn’t explicitly include recording the videos so the recordings couldn’t be used in court as evidence. Without the recordings of him asking for and receiving sexual services from a potentially trafficked person the prosecutors weren’t able to make a case and he remains a free man, not guilty in the eyes of the law even though what he did became widely known. Still blows my mind that he had the financial resources for any variety of overtly-transactional or less-overtly-transactional-and-perfectly-legal-in-most-jurisdictions relationships with willing participants, yet he chose the really cheap and illegal route with someone who was likely coerced into the action by a third party. Was that part of the appeal?
