From an American-

I'm sure by now you all have seen our government's 'official response' to your wildfires. I saw that, and as an American I am beyond appalled. Please know that the public statements made by our government do not reflect the thoughts and beliefs of the majority of the American people.

When the US had wildfires, Canada sent us significant support including numerous firefighting aircraft, air crews, and support equipment. This was not a small token contribution, it made a real difference. It saved lives and property and forest. That is how neighbors and friends are supposed to help each other out, and we appreciated the hell out of it. It is not forgotten.

To hear that our 'official response' to your wildfires is to threaten... I have no words to describe the feeling. I am proud to be American, I love my country, but today I am ashamed. That these things are being said as representative of me and my countrymen... it is beyond shameful. We are supposed to be better than this. Better allies, better neighbors, better humans. I am ashamed and angry that my government is representing me and my fellow Americans in this manner.

I can only say that the majority of Americans do not feel this way. Forget the propaganda you see on the news (and it is mostly propaganda). The people of this country love our northern friends, we feel for you. We don't want to annex Canada or punish you for a natural disaster or any of this crap. We want you all to be safe. We want to help.

THAT is who we are, even if we suck at electing politicians that represent that belief.

Stay safe. Be well. We love you.

No. You're a bunch of fucking bloodthirsty treatlerites, who kill, rape, murder and pillage the rest of the world, so that you can live like kings.

Since WWII, you've couped dozens of countries, killed millions of innocent civilians, and contributed to the climate crisis more than any other country in the history of the planet.

In a just world, we would have Nuremberg style trials for your leaders and military.

I pray for the collapse, dissolution, and balkanization of your country, so that the rest of the world can continue to function.

Death to America.

I'm sad that .ml has infiltrated this post.

I pray for the collapse, dissolution, and balkanization of your country, so that the rest of the world can continue to function.

Do you realize that a balkanization of the US entails horrible conditions for the civilian population? For people who had NOTHING to do with anything? Little children?

Can't you "pray" that the US instead, move towards being a peaceful, progressive society? A society that helps itself and the world?

Also, what exactly do you think you're achieving by saying stuff like this? Nothing that you are wishing for is likely going to pass. The people you want punished aren't going to be punished. All that it does is make you insufferable, and poison the entire discussion for everyone participating.

It's a nice thought. I hope you feel better now.

Assuage your guilt with the least amount of effort, using AI no less.

Thanks so much for this.

No AI here. Why do you call this AI?
If you think my writing style is AI-like please look up my user profile on Reddit. I've been writing the same way since long before ChatGPT was a thing.

And no I don't feel better. My 'guilt' is irrelevant. My country isn't on fire. I just see something being said in my name that I strongly disagree with so I say nope that's not me.

I strongly believe that any group will be judged by the actions of the loudest and most visible subgroup, unless the rest of the group distances themselves from that subgroup. So this is my small act to distance myself.

You should be finding ways to bring your nation back from the brink, not typing sympathetic words to foreigners.

ITT: people blame Americans for Trump stealing the election. We are doing our best. How about you take up a gun and go kill a politician? It's not that easy. Don't be a dickhead.

Take a look at any thread about Ukraine, take a look at any thread about Israel.

Americans are about to learn that they're not immune to the generalizations.

US election fraud is currently done through ways that can still be easily stopped if people had even two braincells to rub together. It’s not good, it’s evil shit, but not voting for Trump doesn’t even come close to clearing the bar of being a good, half-way intelligent human being. The fact that so many of them did so that the “fudge the numbers” style of fraud could work is exactly why the country can fuck itself.

They don’t even need to kill a politician, they just gotta stop signing off on the “centrist” and right-wing bullshit that keeps enabling this crap. They gotta be a little uncomfortable. We have an incredibly similar problem here where people jerk themselves off because Carney “isn’t PP” despite still being a full-blown conservative capitalist because they’re too scared to vote for anything margainally progressive. It’s embarrassing as hell how much people will immediately back down and suck boot after barely trying, if at all.
