"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

the ram, storage, gold and copper found in the cameras can be scrapped and worth several hundred dollars. just ask the datacenter companies how much ram cost now.

Of course they're not full of gold, they're full of candy.

The trick is to eat the candy. Your body's digestive system will convert it into golden nuggets

Oh sure - thats what they want us to think!

See, flock made one out of every ten full of gold but they look just like all the others so you can’t tell until you break ‘em open. These losers saw a breakdown video of one with no gold and were all “oh man there’s no gold in these wah wah wah”.

Nice try tech press!

They're full of gold rams. Kneel to your god and pray.

They're full of gold to Google, that 'gold' being all the mass surveillance they have.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago

There's spiritual gold collected when you cut them down. It's golden for the soul

Enough have been cut down that we do know. And they are, indeed, filled with gold, titanium, and other rare metals. A couple people were noting that there's a Nvidia 5090 64GB card, too.

[–] PattyMcB@lemmy.world 2 points 8 hours ago

That's even better than gold! Lol
