Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

That's like when shoppers give fake surprise and concern that you have to work on a holiday.

Because in its market, the AI market, RAM is cheap … if you buy in bulk.

Don't worry guys AGI is real! It'll just cost a few million to update the model with latest pricing data.

I searched yesterday for a sat to $ conversation calculator, the AI response at the top of the search was wrong by 3 orders of magnitude.

At that very point, ChatGPT just acts like that random thief that says "I did nothing" to the police officers... While he has a bag full of money in one hand and a gun on the other.

Here is claude Danmark:

Because I relied too heavily on the raw price snippets from Pricerunner/Prisjagt without checking them live. Those sites showed figures like "640 kr." and "890 kr." in the search results, and I passed them along directly instead of flagging that they were likely outdated/cached prices or promotional snippets that didn't match the actual market.

When I actually fetched a live page (AVXperten) in my last response, it turned out that real desktop prices start around 3,325 kr. — so the 600-1,400 kr. I sent you was actually misleading. Your gut feeling about the prices was right the whole time — it was on me to verify the numbers before sending them, not after you asked a second time.
