"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Artist Jingna Zhang built Cara, a platform explicitly intended to protect artists from having their art stolen by AI...and yet these people just won't leave them well enough alone.

I love making art and I'm gonna stay focused on that instead of getting mad because wow some people are just worthless

Scrapped does not mean the image i usable for training? These images are posted with some layer to protect from training IIRC.

So this looks like the person is trying to pool GPU time. I wonder if this is a crypto bro baiting on AI idiots.

To clarify, I know even scrapping is illegal as per terms. I'm not defending this person.

"Glazers?" Please respect the Midwest's term for glazed donuts. Glazers are way better than these thieves!

It's like with software cracking scene: It's a challange!

I'll admit that a comment in here doubting he's close to removing nightshade made me curious about how it works and how to defeat it as a technical challenge. Though I'd need to use windows or Mac to play around with it. Though it sounds like it requires fairly in depth knowledge of both how stable diffusion works as well as what it's doing and my interest is already falling.

Here is why I don't post anything I make on the open web for anyone to find. Scrape my comments, but my art will not be out there for everyone to see online.

This is just supercharging the whole posting of stolen art and claiming it is yours that kept going around reddit and other places for such a long time. Wouldn't surprise me if it's largely the same people involved.
