Can someone explain what people mean when they say this? Like does it mean they just voted for Kamala, or does it mean they voted for Trump and somehow didn't expect Trump would actually screw them over?

MODERATORS
Most republicans honestly believe Trump is in their corner, even now. They think the things he does that screw them over are being done to screw brown people over even more, and that they'll eventually win the war of attrition and come out better on the other side once all the brown people lose everything and either flee the country or die.
The "I didn't vote for this" people are the ones who weren't lucky enough to be able to weather the shitstorm the way they thought they would, and can see that they're going to lose everything too.
It's like if God came down and said he was flooding the world again, and only 2 people would be chosen to board the new arc, and 77 million people all celebrated because they were all sure they were one of the 2. And they'll keep believing that until they drown.
