Probably because the owner actually has an AI service.
Although I can't say for all of the community, their AI horde is pretty great compared to big AI companies. They are volunteer run, so there's no monetary incentive to provide your compute power. You're literally giving your electricity so that someone else can generate stuff.
Aside from running locally, I think it's the most ethical way to run AI. Of course it doesn't fix all the remaining problems, and compute power could be spent in better ways, but I still say that, even as an anti-ai, it's a good thing to have better alternatives than just big bad corporations
Ps: spent so long on this message that op got banned before I finished :/ Even as antis, you should always look at what is actually working on the other side, as if you refuse any arguments because "pro-ai" it makes you just an hypocrite and not worth listening.
