Thanks for the video. I was interested but yes the login page meant I couldn't see what it was, unfortunately.
I wasn't offended, but disappointed that I couldn't find out what it was.
I know that a de-centralized platform is better, that's why I'm here of course, but I do think that a Canadian hosted and controlled centralized Twitter replacement is something more palatable to many folks that "liked Twitter but hate X". If we can get the Canadian public and officials posting to there then gradually phase out Xitter engagement then we'll all be better for it.
Mastodon can be part of the solution too, but I refuse to hold out for "Masto or bust". I like Mastodon as it is right now, there's no need to force it to grow, it will on its own over time.
OMG guys the link OP posted youtu.be, not youtube.com! Watch oooout!
In all seriousness, from what I got from the thread, the suspicion was that the one link was ehnow and another was ehnw, which is a common phishing tactic (especially how the latter goes straight to an Apple Appstore listing). I don't think it was a direct attack on the legitimacy of Eh Now itself or you. Plus, people hate sign ups here because many, including myself, have been burned by centralized services. Which is why users here take a more scrutinizing position:
Wtf is Eh Now? Why make a centralized service when Mastodon is right there? What kind of people and company run Eh Now? How is my data going to be used? Is it even worth signing up to see a schedule to a protest I won't be going to? Why should I care if one famous "elbows up" guy endorses it?
I think these are all fair questions and I don't think you need to take it personally.
