I can't believe I need to state the obvious here, but this is over and above all of the other extremely valid objections already raised by others vis-a-vis turning the door you sit right next to into an ersatz Molotov cocktail that weighs an extra fifty pounds.

How is this going to help gas stations become drive "thru?" (I see we still also haven't learned how to spell "through.") It's going to allow the gas station to do what, exactly, stick a nozzle in the side of your car?

That's already how filling a modern car with fuel works.

Ignoring all the safety concerns. Wouldn't this make the door heavier and rase the center of gravity. Also where is the window going to retract to. There would need to be multiple tanks all balanced. I don't think the tank placement is an issue for car designers.

Keeping aside the obvious hazard, what exactly was going on in this guys head? How does putting tank inside doors help?

How even do they expect this change to make drive-thru gas stations possible? They are already as drive-thru as they can be and the opening to fill the tank is already on the side of the car.

Instead, what we ought to do is have massive refuelling tankers just cruising around and we put the fueling port on the front so we can refuel mid-drive like a fighter jet.

There's already a way to make refueling a drive thru, it's called paying $10 to the gas station man to do it for you.

An idea like this, assuming it's not ragebait, would probably never leave the confines of this person's imagination and the AI's chat history. By the time you get to the point where you would send a design over to a fabrication shop, there would be too much skin in the game for somebody to not speak up about how dumb it is.
