Interesting to hear all these opinions. These have been around for so many years - there has been plenty of data. Surprising this is just now being turned back. For small orders I've always loved the self checkout and found it way more efficient. Part of that is likely because I want out of the store much more than any clerk wants me out of the store.

I was a big fan of self checkouts when they were new.

Past year or so, I've completely changed course. I go out of my way now to go through the regular checkout lines.
