Voting maybe part of escalation.

Unless the fascists are able to edit the votes. But that would also be on escalation.

But voting alone may not be safe, if you are dealing with fascists as they will be ready for escalation(may even be wishing for it). You would need your own orgs, preferably communist/socialist orgs since they were one among the most effective against fascists based on history.

It's the fucks who didn't vote that got Trump elected.

That and election rigging.

Serious question. What is your actionable alternative? Actionable as in something you do

Vote as triage, but lower your expectations on a "big strong man" solving broken systems. Life is short; voting takes time from other meaningful activities. Triage, if time allows, but do other meaningful activities.

Being cautious of the "big strong man" will help recognition of the slide toward any of the flavors of fascism. Populists promise "for the people" or "for the workers" and then centralize "power to" and "power over". The revolution results in the same broken systems with normal people with no power.

Regarding individual actions:

  • Build mutual aid with neighbors
  • Develop defence skills (firearms, explosives, hand-to-hand, drones, cardio, trapping, etc)
  • Learn real world skills (gardening, mechanics, chopping wood, carpentry, ect)

No gods, no masters. All power to all people.
