I agree that it is a press statement being BFFs, but China has been supporting Russia's war efforts with Russia saying they would also support Chinese war efforts. It is definitely a weird alliance, and they most certainly do not trust each other, but they are clearly working together to be a counter to "Western" influence and are likely going to increase military, intelligence, and trade ties.

I hope that it stops at proxy wars, espionage, and tradefare. I just do not see it as likely given the climate.

The information I have seen leads me to believe that something really fucking bad is about to happen, and WW3 is about to kick off for real.

Canada and the US are still far apart on any "deal" that would see the tariffs go away, and Canadians likely are never going back even if the relationship thawed politically.
Trump renamed the "Department of Defense", to the "Department of War"
Trump is currently sending troops to Portland. (I believe I read it was close to 1,800. Please correct me if wrong)
Days later, Trump starts talking 51st state bullshit again.
Let us not forget that Putin and Trump are friends, and any issues between them are 100% performative.

Meanwhile:

China seems to be readying an attack on Taiwan.
China has been observed in our Arctic waters.
China is also buying up anything they can to get rights to our rare earth minerals.

Meanwhile:

Russia has also been poking around the Arctic.
Russia has been invading NATO airspace for some time now, specifically around where the leaders will gathered this week.
Reports of Russia potentially opening up a NATO front in the war with Ukraine.

Meanwhile:

Russia, China, and North Korea are in an open alliance.
North Korea has been pushing some boundaries recently with South Korea.

I am missing a lot because I am just pulling from my memory (As an example the Saudi/Pakistan treaty that I didn't read into enough) but it just looks like this is it. I am not trying to be an alarmist, but I don't see these signals going any other way than directly to Global war.

You are free to describe how, and then tell me why it matters.

Regardless of your reasoning that doesn't change what is legally owed to the Indigenous people of Canada under international law.

Indigenous people have territory within Canada which is considered their territory. What is considered Tribal territory is heavily contested by the Government of Canada in many cases, as well as other tribes contesting claims to the same land.

The waters are so incredibly muddy on where those boundaries are, and a lot of work is needed just to sift through the broken treaties, old maps, Oral histories that managed to survive the cultural genocide, and other documents that demonstrate the ownership of territory.

With all of that being said, Indigenous tribes have the right to self determination, and self governance. If we are being serious about Truth and reconciliation then lets be serious and give every Tribe the following options:

Their Tribal lands become provincial lands, determined by where the borders of the Tribal land are, and the territory is now controlled by the province. The provincial Government is now responsible for everything they would be responsible for if the territory was not controlled by the Tribe.
Their Tribal lands become their own Province within Canada, with all of the powers and responsibilities that come with it.
Their Tribal lands become their own country, completely separating from Canada, with Canada ceding all rights and powers over the Territory.

Regardless of the chosen option, a final settlement will be paid to each tribe covering all damages as well as including a percentage of the wealth generated on those lands while under provincial/federal control.

Every tribe has a right to this choice under international law, and if we are serious about reconciliation, the choice has to be solely with the tribe with no "consultations" or other nonsense from the Government.

Their land, their choice. We can do this today and finally move forward.

As I said, you are free to take your complaints to the Indigenous community first and convince them their ways of life and traditions need to be stopped.

There is nothing wrong with owning, hunting for, producing, or selling furs. If you disagree, start your "anti fur trade" campaign with the Indigenous tribes who still rely on it.
