You are so right. My most downvoted comment on Piefed ever was about how Trump might be doing something out of pure greed instead of just stupidity, and I was called a "moron" for thinking that Trump was capable of something other than imbecility.
He is the very personification of greed. And tariffs give him a perfect vehicle to screw everyone over so he can make money whenever he wants. We say, TACO, he chickened out. He still makes money on the announcement of a change in tariffs. In fact he makes money when he announces AND when he withdraws the change.
It was eggs, then coffee, now beef. They are starting to figure out that if one of the producers hikes up prices, all the other ones will follow suit because why not?
