The fucking state of Virginia is calling for a moment of silence over this guy. What the hell is going on?

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 33 points 2 days ago (2 children)

And to bury the Epstein birthday book. Did anyone realize that the emails between Maxwell and Epstein were released yesterday?

[–] damnedfurry@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Some messages made references to Trump, though they do not provide any evidence of criminal conduct.

Welp.

The article also doesn't mention those communications implicating anyone (alive) other than Maxwell, which isn't nothing, but definitely not the illumination people were hoping for, I don't think.

You're right, you made me dig a little further.

Edit: Here is one of the mentions of Trump:

Trump’s name surfaced again around the time Epstein was making an intense backchannel lobbying effort to get federal prosecutors to drop their case against him. It was in an email dated Aug. 23, 2007, a month before Epstein signed the non-prosecution agreement with the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida that ended the federal component of the Epstein investigation.

The emails indicate that Maxwell may have been referring to a team of reporters covering Epstein who she expected would be seeking information from Trump; from Abe Gosman, the late healthcare magnate whose palatial property sold to Trump for $41 million after a heated bidding war with Epstein; from court documents in West Palm Beach; and from Joel Pashcow, the Palm Beach police and fire foundation board member who’d traveled on Epstein’s private jet. Pashcow did not respond to a request for comment.

Here is what is on Prince Andrew:

The unsealed documents released Thursday also contain allegations that Jane Doe 3 — whose allegations match those of Giuffre — was "forced" to have sexual relations with Prince Andrew on Epstein’s private island in what was described as "an orgy" with numerous other under-aged girls. It does not specify the year. The woman was allegedly instructed by Epstein to "give the Prince whatever he demanded" and "report back to him on the details of the sexual abuse."

The email proves he knew Epstein at least as long as Epestein had the island up and running.

The email proves he knew Epstein at least as long as Epestein had the island up and running.

That's not enough to convict him of anything, though. It's sounding more and more like there won't be any smoking gun in these files, at least not when it comes to Trump specifically.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Oh damn I can't wait to faicism to fall now that the files are coming out.

Anytime now guys. Definitely not a distraction or a waste of time.

Idk, light magas around the edges might be swayed once they hear all of the times their leader acts like a pedophile and surrounds himself with pedophiles.

[–] Madzielle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

My maga family (who I dont speak with since even before maga) all covered up the sexual crimes of the men in the family.

Maybe some folks it will sway, but honestly I highly doubt it would be a majority.

You think they don't know? It's not like this is a secret lol. He is a convicted felon.

But sure, the next felony will be the one I'm sure. Lmoa

[–] djsoren19@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

You think they don't know?

Yes. In fact, I'm certain they don't. You have to understand, Trump voters don't live in our reality. They live in a fabricated fantasyland created by the slop media they consume. They think Donald Trump is fighting the pedophiles, because that is what they have been told to believe. All of the attacks on him are "fake news" because they're from mainstream media sources, which they have been told to never trust.

If concrete evidence that they have been directly lied to is distributed to them by a source they trust, I can't say for sure what would happen, but it's probably the best chance for them to be deprogrammed.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 day ago

Yes. In fact, I’m certain they don’t. You have to understand, Trump voters don’t live in our reality.

So this will bring them into reality? Why would they start living in it now all of the sudden? They will create some alternate theory in their minds and cling to it if they have to.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sound like you don't live in our reality my dude.

If you keep underestimating everyone who doesn't agree with you, it'll be difficult to think of true, inclusive change.

They know. And they understand. The just reach different conclusions and actions with the same information and capabilities as you.

Like you, most people aren't passive receptacles of what happens around them. But not everyone will react the same way or think the same thing as you.

That's doesn't mean they 'live in a fabricated fantasy land'. That's just the pc way to dehumanize people.

They are different people, and you need to see them as that if you actually care about them. Then you might be able to have honest, constructive conversations. People don't disagree with facts, they disagree with people.

And acting like they're stupid and you're God's smartest cookie is an easy way to get people to disagree with you.

Cheers.

You're just being condescending and seem to have never interacted with them person to person. I live here. I deal with them daily. I have heard them double down on insane nonsense that I don't know if you could dream of.

90% of what you said are inferences you are making. I understand they are victims of propoganda. It doesn't seem like you do.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Oh I can see a victim of propaganda alright. Lmao.

[–] Ghis@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I grew up in the rural deep south. You're dead fucking wrong. You can act like you're so intelligent, and that they don't do this, but they do. They absolutely fucking do.

[–] boonhet@sopuli.xyz 36 points 2 days ago

They're martyrizing him. Goal is probably civil war and trans genocide.

[–] philosloppy@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago (1 children)

the far-right establishment behind the Trump administration is preparing to use this as the justification for the incoming Reichstagsbrandverordnung.

They've got their van der Lubbe now and they're working to get their bullshit in before Nov 2026

[–] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Wlthe fact that a nazi is called lube scares me tremendously

[–] philosloppy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

van der Lubbe was a communist who was executed for starting the Reichstag Fire...

[–] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Oooo ty I didn't know that.

[–] BlameTheAntifa@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

Bigots, racists, liars, and stochastic terrorists are the rights idols. That is what is going on.

[–] theparadox@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

The same thing that the billionaires have been doing. Paying fealty and demonstrating loyalty in the hopes of avoiding attack or maybe even getting rewarded.
