The approval is subject to new legally binding undertakings provided by TikTok Canada, Canadian Industry Minister Melanie Joly said in a statement.

"Further, this decision will ​protect Canadian jobs, ensuring that TikTok Canada maintains a physical presence in ​Canada, with commitments to invest in its cultural sector," the Canadian ⁠government said.

So, will this apply to the MAGA version that the US owns...or just the original Chinese version? I just want to know whose government propaganda we'll be subjected to.

Simple answer is Yes. Complex answer is the ad companies that find value in it here in Canada, then whichever government wants your data will take it, and sell it to whatever ad company.
