No one over there seems to even care either. They are going to let their magistrates, famously aristocratic and unforgiving to the working class, send people to prison for up to 3 years without a jury trial. They already cancelled juries for up to 1 year in prison in 2020.

They sabotaged and underfunded the system so trials took too long, then used the failure for speedy trials to get rid of the bedrock protections of jury trials, same way they started to privatize during thatcher and reagan. You see, accused rapists aren't brought to trial soon enough, what are you for rapists? Give up your rights unless you protect rapists.

It's a dumb argument but it works somehow.
