That's a shame. It was a good meme there for a while. I had no idea that it was being tied to racist bullshit.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I can't use that meme anymore. I don't want to be associated with these chuckle fucks.

Yeah there's a documentary about the guy who created pepe and how he hates that it's been co-opted by awful people. I forget what it's called.

Pepe is actually a reclaimed racist meme. Most of this 4chan racism about the frog is from 2016 or so. If you're ever on twitch, you'll see it all over the place because it's a huge part of their culture.

I'm speaking particularly of chat emotes. I still see it all the time, but it may vary by channel.

That's fair. Chat emotes can vary wildly from streamer to streamer.
