China has been committing cultural genocide for the last 76 years, we should not be praising them at all

Anything's possible when you make shit up kiddo

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website -2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So the indigenous boarding schools weren't genocide? I have some relatives that would dosagree

Wow the nation with cities that run on slave labor are siding with genocidal oppressors, so convincing

[–] Amnesigenic@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

The majority of muslim nations on earth sent delegates to China specifically to investigate these accusations in person and they disagree with you. 16 countries who all have an obvious interest in the treatment of their fellow muslims, as opposed to the source of the accusations, the US and our lackeys who have spent the past 50+ years indiscriminately bombing & imprisoning muslims around the world and surveilling& harassing them domestically, an equally obvious conflict of interest. How do you explain that?

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website -2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The USA's crimes don't absolve China of theirs! Why is this so hard to understand?

[–] Amnesigenic@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago

I didn't say anything about absolution dumbass, the US has no credibility on the topic. Long & extremely verifiable history of fabricating atrocity propaganda to justify our foreign policy + obvious disregard for human life and freedom in general and muslims in particular = nobody believes you. Also you completely ignored the part where the muslims of the world support China. You're so fucking arrogant you think you know what's in their best interest better than they do. You're a joke.

This smear campaign rings hollow after the past few years of Israel's genocidal actions. We know what genocide looks like.

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website -3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Congratulations, you just absolved the USA and Canada of the crime that were the indigenous boarding schools. Cultural genocide is still genocide, fascist

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

Those boarding schools have graveyards. They weren't just taking our language and cutting our hair, they killed us too.

China simply isn't doing that. Calling something "genocide" without mass death rings hollow. Every genocide in history has always been accompanied with mass death, that's how we should identify something as genocide.

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website -3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

China is systematically disassembling their culture so it no longer exists, that's the goal of the camps in China. You shame those we lost by defending the same evil.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

You shame every victim of every genocide in history when you compare education with death. In every other genocide there was always mass death. So, where's the mass graves? Oh there aren't any.

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website -3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Mass graves have been found in Tibet, China has crematorium attached to the camps to keep that from happening again. You are defending a GENOCIDAL REGIME

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

... I'm finding mass graves that date back to the Second Sino-Japanese War. Are you talking about the rebels that were killed during the cultural revolution? That was clearly a factional dispute, not ethnic cleansing. Mao even condemned it, and the martyrs cemetery isn't even a secret that anyone "found".

Oh but now all the deaths are covered up by cremation and super secret, but trust us, they're totally real. 🙄

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 3 days ago (1 children)

You can condemn them for that while also saying they're doing some shit correct. It isn't all or nothing.

Nah genocide is genocide. Stop going to bat for fascist activity

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 1 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Yes they have. Who hasn't? America is still continuously invading Indian lands and destroying the ecosystems they depend on. You might have noticed America also has a bit of a white nationalist problem, and is currently in the midst of a purge.

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website 0 points 3 days ago (2 children)

Dismissing genocide is a bad look, very fashy

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 1 points 2 days ago

Who's dismissing it? The whole point here is about comparing nations. China is committing genocide, the US is committing genocide, Israel is committing genocide, and the list goes on. I don't "dismiss" it, but if one is valid than so are the others.
