London, Ontario is facing a critical public health crisis due to the toxic drug supply

Life-saving health and harm reduction services at Regional HIV/AIDS Connection (RHAC) face a total funding withdrawal on June 13, 2026

The federal government has established the Emergency Treatment Fund (ETF) specifically to provide municipalities with rapid responses to emergent, critical needs related to the substance use and overdose crisis.

We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada , call upon the House of Commons to: 1. Direct Health Canada to immediately coordinate with the City of London and local service providers to facilitate an emergency application to the Emergency Treatment Fund (ETF); 2. Provide the necessary federal bridge funding to sustain these life-saving services beyond the June 13 deadline; and 3. Ensure that federal "rapid response" funding is prioritized for communities like London facing imminent service closures. Sounds like a safe injection site, or needle exchange site, like prairie harm reduction in Saskatoon that lost funding.

All I've seen these places do is keep people who have lost all hope alive and destroy neighbourhoods and increase drug use.

I think they are an example of good intentions gone horribly wrong.

Cut all funding and never give it back.
