Perhaps I can save someone else the time of doing a reverse image search:
This portrait is showing English poet Christopher Anstey with his daughter Mary Ann and was painted by William Hoare, circa 1776. It‘s on display in room 18 on floor 3 at London‘s National Portrait Gallery.

Oh, thank God, I was worried it was going to be something heartbreaking, like the painting was commissioned after the little girl had tragically died from scarlet fever or some such. Everything's fine.
She died in 1829 at the age of 66, a ripe old age back then!
Best thing to happen in 1776.
