I be out here defending Harry Potter simply because the anti-HP crowd in queer spaces have become so toxic they're turning the concept of having read a book 15 years ago into some sort of puritan test of thoughtcrime.
It is okay if you liked the story. It does not make you a lizardperson antichrist lol
I literally wouldn't even know an HBO show was happening if people hadn't been rageposting about it round the clock. Every single JK Rowling update I have ever received has been from left and queer sources. I just don't understand how anyone can follow all the trivial social media accounts of a vocal fascist who they claim to hate. It's one thing when it's a politician and keeping an eye out is for the sake of your own wellbeing, but she's literally just some washed up has-been celeb. Block that shit and stop giving her new projects free advertizing, please.
Some people spend too much time online and it shows. There are some very drama filled spaces where it seems like people purposely follow things that make them angry and assume everyone else should be as angry as they are.
I know the algorithms encourage it, but people need to just disengage and stop giving bandwidth to the rage bait stuff.
