Under the new rules, police will be able to issue tickets directly to the car's manufacturer when an autonomous vehicle breaks a traffic law.

This is one of those vanishingly rare scenarios where Civil Forfieture actually makes sense.

You literally programmed your property to commit a crime that endangers the general public.
