mental illness and instability doesn't care what kind of environment you live in.

if your brain decides to flood your body with cortisol and your heart dumps in adrenaline, you're going to become violent because your senses, and your brain, identifies everything as a threat which triggers fight or flight.

a cornered animal always bites, and we are animals.

An animal is not always cornered, however. Fight or flight does imply the option of flight.
