This is particularly hilarious and nonsensical because orangeboi has been in charge of the place for 6 of the last 10 years

He will forever be remembered as the man who killed the American republic.

I mean… yes and no. He’s a symptom, not a root cause.

Not to mention, Biden and the DNC snatched defeat from the jaws of victory quite handily, because - and I quote - “nothing will fundamentally change”. And in 2020, though orangeboi was defeated, it was by no means the sort of victory the DNC claims it was, as people were simply voting for “not the obviously insane guy” at the time. And Obama rode a wave of passionate grassroots support to victory in 08, then didn’t / couldn’t capitalize on that success - again, largely thanks to the feckless nature of the DNC, so most of his supporters (including myself) feel more than a little burnt over that.

None of this happened in a vacuum. But the common denominator is two overarching things:

  • the GOP and their party apparatus successfully capturing the judicial system pretty much in entirety
  • the DNC (especially establishment/leadership) being so unbelievably feckless and two-faced and categorically useless that they are basically unable to accomplish anything at all that’s not tied to corporate interests. Which the vast majority of Americans are absolutely sick to fucking death of. The DNC is (and has been for quite a while) captive opposition, at best.
