"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Personally I don't think that should matter in this case. Why are they taking it upon themselves to moderate private user files?

Plus, we all know they're probably scraping all of it for AI training too.

Unless you're encrypting them yourself (and even then), there is no such thing as private user files in the cloud.

Especially with any of the big corps.

In theory they are required to stop scanning private user files, at least for EU users after Chat Control was repealed.

In theory they are supposed to pay a commensurate amount of taxes.

Private in this case means not posted publicly.
