I've seen it from space, doesn't look like missile craters to me. Have you seen what western "investment" entails?
So X isn't bad because Y is worse? Hey we know we enslaved you but we didn't kill you so it's fine, the other dude would have killed you so now we're kinda like the good guys only enslaving you.
No, you're projecting Y on X because you're scared that the world will see just how much better X is, and slowly but surely, Y will fade away into irrelevance as it's institutions implode.
