I wouldn't think of zomboid as a new game, got it ages ago. It's alright, not a massive fan of permadeath though. Especially in a game with easy potential for many many hours of progress on a save. If a run is fairly short then I am ok with it. Like extraction shooters typically do, just dislike the PvP aspect of a lot of them.
That actually brings me to zero sievert - that is pretty good. Though it doesn't feel like it's really balanced around the mode where you lose your inventory on death.
I'll take a look into more on the list later. I used chatgpt last night (yeah, perhaps not the best source of info) but it did find a few games that sound interesting. Got a list on my PC to search through later, some are so cheap on gog right now I might grab them. A £2 game is probably fine even if it only has 10s of hours of playtime.
