Eh, UEFI isn't bad in general.
Yeah, it's more complicated, and a lot more stuff is up to the firmware, and "secure boot" sucks, but aside from that "secure boot" nonsense, it's not like it mandates any crappiness, and it's not like they couldn't have built this shit into a BIOS-mode computer if that was still the standard.
And I gotta say, bootloaders being regular files is REALLY nice.
