To be fair this is actually medicine they are taking. Not sure why you would take it recreationally though.
Ivermectin is medication for horses. It is considered “alternative medicine“ for humans to consume it. stupid people learn about this garbage on the Internet, not from doctors. Well, not from doctors who are trained to treat humans, anyway.
That's a bunch of bull. It's not just horse (or bull) medicine.
Ivermectin is generally used as a anti-parasitic medication for all animals including humans. In some parts of the world it's regularly taken to help protect against parasites. As such it's one of the most important drugs out there, and is on the WHO list of essential medicines.
This guy sounds like he took drugs he bought from a scammer. Maybe it was an overdose, or maybe he took something else.
And to use it for treating Covid (or whatever bizarre “ailment” he’s using it for here) is “alternative medicine”, so stop defending it as a valid treatment. That’s simply ridiculous.
Especially because you even admit that this idiot obviously bought drugs from a scammer (and is obviously suffering the consequential side effects of improper use/dosages), not from valid prescriptions from a licensed medical professional.
Be reasonable instead of getting all high and mighty and try to pwn me over some absurd esoteric technicality.

If somebody has been prescribed it, they should be taking it. Not worrying about why their doctor has given them "horse medicine" and refusing it. ...and it's an extremely common prescription.

I’m just gonna block you now. Scream into the void if it makes you feel better. I learned long ago that it is a waste of time and effort to try to reason with the unreasonable. One cannot reason a person out of a position they did not reason themselves into. I’m gonna stick with doctors and science, and you can argue grammatical technicalities all you like without me. Ahh, had heard it was an anti parasite thing but wasn't aware it was specifically for horses.
It's not specifically for horses, it's just commonly used enough that it's easy to source horse formulations. When the nutjobs couldn't get the regular stuff from doctors, they sometimes bought horse paste.
It's the main ingredient in your dog's heartworm prevention medication as well. I'm no doctor, I'm sure there's some human application of the drug, but I've always seen it in a veterinary context.
It's used for parasite treatment. You know....if you're infected with parasites, not COVID/flu/have a headache.
In rare instances, it can also be used on humans, but only in rare instances when all other human anti parasitics have failed
