Edit: oh, this is just another bot that reposts from Reddit. I get the idea of wanting to help Lemmy with more content, but in my opinion, making Lemmy a mirror for Reddit is not the way and likely hurts the space more.

I see that you do monitor your bot and that’s appreciated. I get the idea behind it, I’m all for more content on Lemmy as it helps it to grow, that’s the only reason I post here.
I was on Reddit for maybe 7 years or more before I came here and I only lurked. Only reason I started posting here was in part to not blow up chats with memes, and in part because I didn’t like seeing the same things on Lemmy all day.
Personally, and this is just my general sentiment towards this, not your bot in particular, I think mirroring posts from Reddit harms the space as they are inorganic and tend to be dead spaces for discussion as there’s no original poster. People see it’s a bot post, see it’s got a link back to Reddit, and move on and ignore it. Even if they comment no one’s going to reply, because it’s not a post by a real human.
Bots that make sense are bots that automate RSS type content like news, or comics from particular artists, not posts that share a new tattoo, or personal question.
Lemmy doesn’t need to be Reddit to thrive. It doesn’t need to be a mirror of that site. It needs real interactions by real people.
Again, not directed towards your bot entirely, this is just something I’ve felt towards the growing number of mirror bots.
