does it matter if you and others can understand it? imo the primary goal of communication (getting your idea across) has been achieved.

Exactly. Sara Coner bin dun bloowed up IA al over. I typed that as stupidly as I could, and it still isn't as bad as things I've seen from students apparently raised by the enlightened "communication has been achieved" crowd.
