If you only seriously realize this when using some random social media app, you're the perfect example of how this could have happened. If not, then all the more so.
I realized that they basically defunded the CDC now because I live REALLY far away from america and dont subscribe to depressing us news

Aside from the fact that mainstream social media apps are being misused by billionaires for their own purposes, that’s the biggest problem here: people who get in the way of a meaningful discussion because they feel the need to post something they find funny.
This isn’t a topic where jokes are appropriate. You may not grasp the consequences, but it’s exactly as I say: Hundreds of thousands of people are dying because of this.
And yet: You think this is a joke. That’s disgusting, nothing more.
